We compared data from Student Math Mindset Surveys in November 2023 to May 2024. Surveys were given to students in Grades 1-7, and comparisons from November to May were made at each grade cohort. We were interested to see if there were any differences in the student data from November 2022 to May 2023, after almost a full year of learning about the power of a positive mathematical mindset, incorporating hands on math activities, and including bi-weekly High-Yield Routines in all classrooms to develop computational fluency.

The comparison of data from the November 2023 survey to the May 2024 survey did show positive growth in many areas across all grade levels. Generally we saw a shift from 'Emerging' and 'Developing' proficiencies to 'Proficient' and 'Extending' proficiencies. These surveys along with staff observations of student growth during classroom lessons tells us we are moving in the right direction.
