2022-2023 Student Progress Report Data

We have captured and compared data from two different Progress Reporting Periods in the 2022-2023 school year:

December 2022 - Progress Reporting Period #1

June 2023 - Progress Reporting Period #3 (end of the school year)

Proficiency Scale Data for every student in the school was collected from the December 2022 and June 2023 Student Progress Reports. The data from these two reporting periods was compared for each grade level (Kindergarten to Grade 7).

We wanted to see if there was a collective progression along the Proficiency Scale for students at each grade level. Our hope is that following our focus on math mindset, computational fluency and hands on math activities in the 2022/2023 school year, we would see a positive shift along the Proficiency Scales (Emerging ---> Developing ---> Proficient ---> Extending) from Progress Report 1 to Progress Report 3 at each grade level.

Results - After looking at the Proficiency Scale Data from Progress Report 1 to Progress Report 3, there is a clear, positive shift at each grade level up the Proficiency Scale. It is not definitive that this shift is entirely because of the lessons, activities and strategies implemented in classrooms through 2022-2023 school year, but collectively as educators, we believe the focus this year in classrooms on math mindset, computational fluency and hands on math activities has had a significant impact on student understanding of math concepts this school year.

Please take a look at the data and notice the positive shift up the Proficiency Scale for each grade level cohort. See the attachment to this post for this data.
