At the end of the 2022-2023 School Year, the RJ Tait Staff reflected on the progress our students and staff have made over the past school year along our Numeracy Focus journey. A suggestion for the 2023-2024 school year was to consult the teaching resource High-Yield Routines, and create a schedule and commit as a staff to focus on one routine (instructional strategy) per month. In every classroom in our school, classes would be focusing on the same routine and applying it to numeracy concepts in a grade level appropriate way. The Tait Staff believe learning these routines in all classrooms from K-7, will help students develop number fluency and strategies as they move through the Elementary years from K-7.

February - Chapter 4 - Number Lines

April - Chapter 5 - Quick Images

May - Chapter 6 - Guess My Rule
