Have you ever taken the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions about yourself? Right now, every Tait student from grade K – 7 is involved in an exploration of discovery about who they are as a person and as a learner. Our focus for our Open House this year is on the Core Competencies on the New B.C. Curriculum, one of which states:
“Personal awareness and responsibility includes the skills, strategies, and dispositions that help students to stay healthy and active, set goals, monitor progress, regulate emotions, respect their own rights and the rights of others, manage stress, and persevere in difficult situations. Students who demonstrate personal awareness and responsibility demonstrate self-respect and express a sense of personal well-being.”
On Tuesday, March 13th from 4 – 6pm, during our annual Tait Open House, students will welcome parents into the school to see the results of this exploration in self-discovery. Every student in our school will be “on display” as life-size cutouts of our students that tell 216 individual stories, adorn the hallways of Tait.
Now that’s being Thoughtful.I.G.E.R.S!
